Hi, I’m Rysia! I am a fully qualified and very experienced science and biology teacher, with 15 years of classroom teaching experience. After successfully tutoring part-time for the past year, I am now leaving the classroom to become a full-time online tutor!

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Medical Sciences, qualified teacher status and an up to date enhanced DBS certificate.

I have taught in a number of different secondary schools - both in London and abroad. Thus, in addition to having the academic knowledge required, I am also trained in using a variety of teaching methods in order to help a student fully grasp, understand and apply the scientific content in their exams.

I am highly proficient in teaching the new AQA GCSE Biology and Combined Science curriculum. I have taught the content for these syllabi on a daily basis and therefore I know exactly how students should structure and answer their exam questions, in order to get the highest marks. I can also help students who are struggling with understanding and applying the content of the required practicals.

I have helped to teach and coach students from all kinds of backgrounds and of varying ability levels.

Tutoring Approach

I have a passion for my subject and I also really care about my students, as individuals. I consider myself to be a calm, approachable and caring teacher, who genuinely wants her students to achieve their best. Through cultivating a safe and professional relationship with my students, I believe I can get the best results from them. They know that I am as invested in their progress, as they are.

I tailor my teaching style to each student. Before our first session together, I will have a discussion with the student/parent, in order to help me to identify the specific areas that they need to focus on and improve. In this way, I can make sure that we gain the best results possible, in the shortest amount of time.

I also email the resources we used, to the student at the end of each lesson. Therefore, they will always have a copy of exactly what we have covered.

I have access to a huge bank of past exam questions and teaching resources, so I can also provide mock examinations to the students, mark them within 24 hours and provide tailored feedback of what they have done well and where they can improve.
