I am a very experienced Latin, Spanish and French teacher and teach from Year 7 through to Year 11. I have prepared students for OCR, CIE, AQA and Edexcel exams at GCSE and IGCSE levels. I have an excellent track record of helping students improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, making each skill more sophisticated and more relevant, One of my strengths is assisting students who are finding learning a foreign language challenging, I have helped students who were predicted low grades to achieve much greater proficiency and higher grades.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a teacher in Cambridge for more than 25 years with a very good results profile: I have helped students achieve high grades in their exams and far in excess of their predicted levels, I am currently tutoring in French, Spanish and Latin. I teach in two schools and have taught at several of the leading schools in the city. My own love for learning languages continues and I am currently studying Japanese and British Sign Language.

Tutoring Approach

I have a very positive approach to helping students. Students say that I am an effective and kind teacher and that I use a sense of humour and good subject knowledge to increase their confidence and attainment. My teaching is flexible and adaptable depending on the personality and profile of each child. My lessons are informative and rigorous with that vital element of fun embedded in how I approach each session. I am flexible and happy to amend a lesson to accommodate last minute requests for help prepare for a test or a new topic that a learner may need support with.
