Hi there! I'm Rumi Abukar, and I'm an enthusiastic and committed academic tutor with a solid background in the sciences. I have a strong passion for education and an outstanding record in school. I'm dedicated to assisting students in achieving their academic goals in subjects like math, chemistry, and biology.

Throughout my school years, I was a standout student who earned an amazing 7 A and 3 A* grades in GCSE Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology. I further refined my knowledge and skills by pursuing my A-levels in the same subjects, building on this foundation.

Motivated by my love of Chemistry, I started a rewarding career at the esteemed University of Leicester, where I studied chemistry for my  master's degree. I thoroughly studied the fundamentals of chemistry during my studies, setting the foundation for my future pursuits. I carried on with my studies after graduating, earning a Master's degree in Chemistry with First Class Honours.

Tutoring Experience

Since I have a strong academic background, research experience, and a sincere love of teaching, I know I can motivate and inspire my students. Not only am I knowledgeable about the subject, but I also have a talent for explaining difficult concepts in a way that's easy to grasp. My objective is to give my students the confidence they need to succeed academically by providing them with the tools and information they need.

Tutoring Approach

have been a private tutor for more than 6 years, and in that time, I have regularly helped my students achieve outstanding outcomes. Several of my former students are now enrolled in extremely competitive programmes like law, medicine, dentistry and mathematics at elite Russell Group universities. Their academic success has been greatly influenced by my individualised tutoring approach, which is catered to the needs of each individual student.

My approach to teaching is student-centered, dynamic, and captivating. I put a lot of effort into getting to know my students, figuring out how they learn best, and adjusting my methods to suit their individual requirements. Whether it's helping my students grasp difficult maths concepts, write essays that shine, or get better at exams, I'm dedicated to giving them all the support they need to succeed.
