Another brilliant year in 2024 with 90% of my students achieving a grade 7- 9 or above in GCSE. Some of these students were working at a grade 3-4 when they came to me. All my other students improved their English Language levels by 3 grades. I teach all GCSE exam boards: AQA, IGCSE Edexcel, CIE, WJEC.
Don't panic and don't be discouraged if you are worried about your English Language & Literature GCSE. You may not be performing as well as you expected, but I can help! Contact me straight away. I have helped students go up 3 levels in their exams.
100% Success Rate. I am familiar with all Exam Boards requirements. With an MA in Creative and Professional Writing, I am uniquely positioned to help students who struggle with Creative and Transactional Writing which form 50% of the marks on each paper.
I also specialise in Independent School Entrance Tests.
I am an engaging English Tutor who is well qualified to help your child.
I also teach Creative Writing to Degree Level, English as a Second Language and A Level Law.

I have the following qualifications: MA Creative and Professional Writing: (Including scriptwriting.) Trinity College Cert. TESOL. Level 5, Thames Valley University: LLB Law: (2:1)

Many English tutors are not able to teach creative writing, which is a key component in the GCSE Exam paper.
I have a Masters Degree in Creative Writing.

I have a genuine commitment to helping my learners to obtain the best grade at GCSE and at A Level. I create a positive learning environment in which a learner feels happy, secure, valued and motivated to learn.

As a creative writer I possess unique skills that help learners grasp the joys of the English language.

I emphasise how empowering self-expression can feel when used to produce imaginative pieces of original work.

Tutoring Experience

I possess two teaching qualifications and have been a successful tutor for ten years. My enthusiasm for the English language is contagious and I enjoy instilling such passion in my students as I treat each learner as an individual, respecting their own learning styles, capabilities and needs. I have experience working with children with educational needs such as autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia. As well as specialising in English Language and Literature at GCSE, I am qualified to teach A Level law and Creative Writing at Degree Level.

Tutoring Approach

I believe it is vital for a tutor to establish good rapport with their leaners in a safe environment where active learning can take place.I create a positive learning environment in which a learner feels happy, secure, valued and motivated to learn. I emphasise that if progress is to be made, a learner must feels safe and is not afraid of making mistakes as they learn. Establishing rapport and encouraging them to be comfortable enables them to take chances with their writing, reading, speaking and listening skills they would not ordinarily take. As an engaging and positive tutor I encourage repeated attempts at working out a solution to a problem with my learners, thus allowing the them to apply his or herself more diligently and thrive in their eventual success.
