Currently I am about to start my third year of Dentistry at the University of Plymouth. I am determined and have a passion for helping others. My previous experience and communication within my profession so far has prepared and motivated me to teach.

Tutoring Experience

I have done private 1-on-1 tutoring for GCSE Spanish, been a Reading mentor for those who struggled with literacy and confidence and been a Peer Support Mentor for those with academic and mental health issues. During the pandemic, my cousin struggled with remote learning, particularly in biology and chemistry, I spent considerable time during lockdown reviewing her material and consolidating her understanding.

Tutoring Approach

I will ask the student which topics they are struggling with and prioritise based on importance, student’s ability and exams. We will revise teaching material (based on exam specification), attempt practice questions and review answers, identifying areas of progress and weakness. Finally, we will summarise key learning points.
