I am an enthusiastic, professional and patient tutor. As a qualified, experienced teacher with a B.A. (Honours) English degree, I ensure that learning is targeted to the particular interests and learning style of each student as success is achieved. Dedicated to motivating pupils, I aim to make each learning experience exciting and challenging.

I now teach mainly online as most students and parents find the experience more accessible, convenient and interactive. I use a secure corporate videoconferencing tool which works very well for education purposes. Most students are already familiar with this approach and enjoy working online.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified teacher with many years' experience teaching in schools and colleges in the UK and also abroad. I undertook county council training to run one-to-one tuition in primary and secondary schools, which I was involved in for seven years. Prior to this, I offered Maths, English and Common Entrance tuition for five years where I was living in Surrey. I have also worked as an examiner for AQA A level English Language and Literature: this has given me an insight into the assessment process and has enhanced my teaching of study skills, revision and exam techniques.

I hаve prepаred many students fоr successful 11+ and 13+ entry intо independent and grammar schools. Details on request. As well аs schооl entrаnce exаms, I cаn help students prepаre fоr interviews аs required. While I am extremely proud of my students' many outstanding academic successes (one Eton King's Scholarship, one Winchester Scholarship, and a place at Dulwich College achieved this academic year), my main focus is to enable each student to become a confident, independent learner.

My genuine interest in learners and my sensitivity to their individual needs enable me to develop a strong rapport. I particularly enjoy seeing students make progress through the personalised process that tuition provides as they grow in confidence and competence.
