Hi, I'm Rosie. I have loved being a secondary school Maths Teacher and have experience of teaching the GCSE and iGCSE curriculum and the Pearson AS Pure Maths syllabus. I enjoyed learning maths throughout school and went on to study Maths with Geography at Newcastle University, gaining a 2:1. After working as an Accounts Assistant for a little while I decided to train as a Maths Teacher in 2017. I went to Kings College London and gained a PGCE in Mathematics. I was awarded the Blackwell Prize for Most Promise in Teaching. I also maintain a healthy and active lifestyle and enjoy running, hiking, teaching dance classes and swimming in the sea.
I have experience in teaching key stages 3 and 4 classes, as well as AS Pure Maths. I have also led focus groups for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. I have taught a range of abilities, class sizes and intervention groups. I have also taught a Year 11 group every year since I trained and can prepare students for their exams. I have training in planning and delivering mastery-style lessons which ensure students gain a deep understanding of a whole topic by teaching small points to build to complete a 'big idea' over time.
I have largely taught classes in person however I also have experience in delivering online lessons to classes and on a one to one basis. I have regularly tutored students in person on a one to one basis. I am able to teach specific topics, interleave topics from session to session, and build exam techniques based on the needs of the student. I have tutored students who have been focusing on exam technique and/or content in preparation for their GCSE exams.
