I am a current mathematics undergraduate studying at the University of Oxford. I achieved A*s in my A levels in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at a non selective state school and achieved 13 grade 9s at GCSE.
I have experience tutoring students of all ages in high school, specifically online tutoring from the pandemic onwards.
I also created and ran a mentoring scheme at my high school for ages 11-18, focussed on mathematical problem solving, and STEP, MAT and TMUA preparation for the older years. This involved me both creating and collating material to be used, and running the sessions while helping people understand relevant material to problem solve with.
I aim to help students how to think scientifically about concepts. My knowledge of the relevant syllabuses is current and I aim to not only explain mathematical concepts, but also to link relevant areas of maths with each other, and foster that ability to see the relationships between different areas of mathematics. This is put into practise by solving varied problems and exam questions, and focussing on really thinking about the mathematics. This allows my students to push themselves and attain those higher grades for which problem solving is required. I am really passionate about these subjects and I believe learning from someone who loves to learn these subjects is the best way for a student to learn!
