Being the son of a music professor and professional guitarist, music has always been a big part of my life. I received my first guitar age 8 at had played my first gig at the renowned Cardiff music venue clwb ifor bach by age 13. I began to study music full time age 16 and continued to do so untill the age of 22, at which point I had graduated with a 2:1 leval deploma in popular music.
Over the course of the past 10 years I have gained a wealth of musical knowledge and experience, both in and outside of the classroom. I have gigged all around south Wales and the sourounding areas, playing in jazz quartets, 60s rock bands, vocal and guitar duos, metal bands, and everything in-between! I have also dedicated much of my spare time to the meticulous study and practice of guitar in a variety of styles from jazz to fingerstyle folk to raggae. Aside from the purely practical/preformance side of music, I have also had experience writing and producing music for student film.
I believe there is no single way or "method" to teaching music or guitar effectively, music is a very personal thing and everybody learns it in different ways. Therefore my teaching style is 100% personalized to each student. I use my wealth of experience to create lesson plans that I think will resonate best with each of my students Indidualy, weather you want to learn how to write your own music, improvise over jazz, or just learn your favourite songs. I can provide solid and informed guidance and tuition in all these areas and much more. All genres, all levels of ability, all ages.
