"Salut à toi!"! My name is Romain, I am French, grew up in France and I have been living in the UK since 2015. I speak French (mother tongue) and I speak fluent English. During my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar, writing novels, creating videos Removed reading and playing video games.

Tutoring Experience

I am new on this website but I have taught French to different people at different levels during my travels. I volunteered in Africa within a community, and I used to live in New-Zealand to work as an AuPair for a year.

Tutoring Approach

First thing, congratulation for wanting to learn French! "Bien joué!
French is an amazing language even though it can be quite intimidating at first.

I know the struggle you are facing because I faced exactly the same when I was learning English as a second language. I can help you if, while learning french, you find yourself in one or more of the situations below :
- You know some french words and you can make sense of it when it comes to reading BUT you lack confidence when trying to speak and feel embarassed?
- You have downloaded dozens of fancy apps, did exercises online on your own, learnt a lot of new words but ultimately you get stuck with with no real human support?
- You find that french people speak too fast and use expressions that doesn't make much sense in english?
- You are lost with masculin and feminine, conjugation/tenses, grammar rules?
- You feel overwhelmed, frustrated, stuck and feel like you don’t progress?

I have been in the exact same situation when I was learning a second language and I can help you if you want to :

• Speak French with confidence : order a coffee like a local, book a table at the restaurant, order a baguette, watch movies in French, have conversations and connect with french people.
• Learn methods to keep the conversation going and avoid blanks.
• Develop your listening skills to pick up key topics and messages.
• Learn french expressions that you will never see in the books but that we, french people, uses everyday.
• Improve your speaking skills with conversation practice exercises, role play and real life conversations.
• Discover french culture : food, fashion, history, cinema, literature, music... and get a grasp with that "je ne sais quoi" that make France so special.

I have a friendly approach that is fun and personalised to your area of interest. I take pride in taking few students at the time to be able to offer maximum support even outside our teaching sessions. I build a relationship of trust with all my students. My method is simple, human, non academic, based on interactive learning, your objectives and personality. We will build up each time on what you have already learnt and go at YOUR pace!
