I have recently graduated with a masters degree in theoretical physics. I am very passionate about my subjects. I am currently working on some personal projects to hone my skills in preparation for the professional world. I have wide interests, gardening, music, science and art. I consider myself a friendly, people person. I get great pleasure from helping people. This includes some volunteering and being a good neighbour.
My most recent experience has been tutoring at university level. Prior to this, I have been a tutor for ten years. During this time I have taught all levels from ten years olds to adult learners
Having struggled with mathematics when I was a student, I am empathetic, slow and understanding with my pupils. Mathematics especially can be very difficult, especially at earlier stages. For this reason I try and make my sessions fun and enjoyable and not too severe and harsh. That being said, in order to excel in a subject a student must push themselves and be helped along the way with this. I don't think spelling out methods is the perfect approach but rather, to guide a student to come to the answers themselves.
