I am a Maths tutor based between Somerset and London, combining my passion for education with a creative background in music and technology. Alongside tutoring, I work as a music producer/songwriter. My music has been performed at major festivals, including Glastonbury, Latitude, Isle of Wight Festival, and Truck Festival, and has been featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and KCRW.

My specialist subject is Maths, which I studied up to A Level, and I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Teacher Education from Oxford Brookes University as well as a Master’s in Songwriting from Bath Spa University.

Beyond tutoring, I’m developing High Score City, an interactive website designed to help students up to GCSE level improve their maths skills. I’m passionate about blending creativity with learning, whether through music, technology, or innovative teaching approaches.

Tutoring Experience

I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Teacher Education, during which I gained extensive experience teaching across the primary curriculum. This hands-on training helped me develop my skills as a creative learning facilitator, including attending and leading workshops in the creative arts. After completing my degree, I worked as a supply teacher for Oxford City Council.

For the past 10 years, I have been providing private Maths tuition alongside my career as a music producer. I have worked with students from ages 7 through to GCSE level, across both primary and secondary education, including those from independent schools preparing for common entrance exams. My focus is on building confidence, as I believe that when students feel more assured in their abilities, they engage more in lessons and achieve better results.

Since 2020, I have also been offering online maths tutoring, using interactive tools to create an engaging and hands-on learning experience.

Tutoring Approach

I am a patient and enthusiastic tutor, passionate about making maths accessible and enjoyable for all students. I understand that confidence plays a crucial role in academic progress, and I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to take an active role in their learning.

Rather than just teaching short-term exam techniques, my approach is centered on building long-term problem-solving skills. I want my students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts so they can apply their knowledge independently, both in school and beyond. By strengthening their foundations, I help them gain the tools they need to approach challenges with confidence and resilience.

I work with a wide range of students, from those who need help building their confidence to those who are already competent and looking for extra challenge. For students who excel in maths, my focus is on pushing them further—introducing new concepts, encouraging deeper thinking, and refining their problem-solving strategies to help them reach their full potential.

I tailor my teaching to suit different learning styles, using interactive methods to make lessons engaging and hands-on. My goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of their starting point, leaves each session feeling more capable, motivated, and empowered in their maths journey.
