I am a part-qualified Actuary by profession, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Delhi and a Diploma in Actuarial Management from Cass Business School, London. While working in various full-time actuarial roles in London, I tried to grab every opportunity to tutor Mathematics part-time, both voluntarily and otherwise.
Considering the very positive response that I had always received from my students, I took up coaching Mathematics for a leading Mathematics tutoring company called Cuemath in India back in 2017, wherein I not only tutored kids aged 3-15, but also developed and proofread the content for them.
I have had a keen interest in Mathematics and Statistics since childhood and have been pursuing my passion for teaching Mathematics and Statistics since I was in secondary school myself. I have taught students at all levels, right from grade 1 to university levels in India, UK and Malaysia. My teaching experience has spanned over 20 years on and off.
My teaching methodology is based on two main things: skill development and adaptation.
Initially, I create a skeleton of the most suitable methodology tailored to the preferred curriculum, after which, I adapt that lecture to the specific needs of the student based on their knowledge and grasp of the concepts.
Second, I like to develop analytical ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers.
Lastly, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress.
