PhD in chemistry.
Seeing my students develop and succeed at A-level Chemistry is extremely rewarding for me.
I have tutored A-level chemistry for the past 10 years. Also previously, undergraduates in tutorials and teaching classes at University level.
I am well versed in the AQA, OCR and Edexcel examination boards and have a large number of improving and ultimately successful students.
Online Experience:
I have a growing number of online students.
Experienced in teaching online for a number of years.
I normally use Skype for the sessions, also open to using other platforms. Using the screen sharing tool is very helpful.
Preparation and organisation is key for success.
I encourage sharing of problems and challenging work areas in between sessions. My students will agree this has the maximum impact for their success.
First sessions focus on understanding where the students problems lie and the key areas for improvement.
I develop a teaching and learning cycle which is unique to how each student responds.
Later sessions focus on exam practice and technique in how to get the best possible grades.
I believe I am patient and understanding of the students difficulties and desired goals.
