I am a friendly, approachable person with a passion for teaching and helping out others with their academic problems. I graduated from Manchester University in 2019 with a Master's in Civil Engineering (2:1), and I am currently working in the Civil Engineering industry. I am available to work as a tutor. I enjoy keeping fit, learning about countries and cultures, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.
I tutored for one year before university, and again for several months after university. Now I tutor part time. My students range from ages 5 to 16, have a wide range of abilities in the classroom, and come from a range of backgrounds.
I am a very empathetic person, therefore I'm always eager to see the problem from the tutee's point of view. That way I can explain concepts in a way that is accessible and understandable. This could involve using diagrams, pictures, funny examples etc. I am extremely patient and appreciate the frustration students may have when not understanding something. Therefore my approach often involves calmly explaining a concept and ensuring understanding, then developing the concept from there, at a steady pace. I'm also keen to bring in real life examples to demonstrate concepts I'm teaching, to show their application and real world usage. Ultimately I aim to make my lessons interesting, enjoyable and fun!
