Tutoring Experience

I have experience of 11 years in mainstream education and have extensive experience of the AQA GCSE curriculum with a high success rate both as a Secondary School English Teacher, Private Tutor and AQA Examiner.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to adapt the teaching need to the specific pupil which may entail basic comprehension up to perceptive analysis of language and techniques. I very much use methods that have worked in the past - for example by using a plethora of resources to support pupils to use their writing skills. Additionally, I prefer to use model resources and mark schemes frequently within lessons so that pupils are able to gain insight into what different levels of analysis look like. I ensure that lessons have pace but equally my style is very supportive and depends completely on feedback from students about which activities they prefer and find beneficial which I have always found pupils very much appreciate.
