I am currently the Head of Chemistry at one of the world’s top schools. I have run chemistry departments in equally prestigious institutions for twenty years. I am one of the top practitioners of chemistry teaching around.
I have been a chemistry teacher in top independent schools for thirty years.
I have taught all the major GCSE and A level Syllabi. I have also taught the International Baccalaureate chemistry course for many years
I have a questioning approach, first principles are crucial in a subject like chemistry that can seem like an incomplete jigsaw puzzle. I like the student to work things out for themselves and then work on exam technique and the tricks associated with examination. It’s all about communication, confidence and realising no question is stupid. I have been doing this a very long time and I do understand how hard the subject can be.
