A Chartered Shipbroker, I have been involved in the maritime sector for over 35 years in commercial and education capacities, having worked for British Steel, as an editorial staff member on Lloyd's Shipping Economist, and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers as an examiner.
I have been a teacher and examiner in different capacities for over 25 years, at East Surrey College, London Guildhall University, and London City College. An Assistant Examiner with AQA for GCE Business Studies (2005-16), an Examiner with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers for Economics of Sea Transport & International Trade (1994-2002). Currently lecturing in Shipping & Logistics at the University of Plymouth International College.
To enable any student to be the best that they can be, in a relaxed environment, but always with the aim of improving standards, if not setting them. Learning should be fun, not a chore, but also needs the required level of focus and application by both student and tutor for the mutually-desired success.
