I am going into my third year of uni in September at the University of Bath where I study Natural Sciences. I am really passionate about science and maths, and I am looking to share some of my robust knowledge with students who need a bit of help in these subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I helped my younger sister revise problem areas for her GCSE’s last summer and have been helping her this past year during her first year of A-Levels.

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to make difficult topics seem less daunting by helping the student approach the questions in a confident and calm manner. I understand first-hand that stress can make the learning process unnerving so I will focus on making the environment relaxed and will give insights on how to carry these techniques into the exam with you.

My teaching style is to spend a few minutes talking through the context of a specific topic so we are on the same page, followed by going over the types of questions asked and how to solve them in-depth, then finally doing practice questions to solidify understanding. I will find practice questions relevant to the topic at hand before the session and work through the solutions with the student after they attempt to answer them.

Instead of rote learning, the focus will be on understanding the concepts at a deeper, intuitive level. This will help the student to adapt to different exam questions that otherwise could throw them off, and will give them confidence when tackling unseen material.
