Rajab

My name is Rajab Omar. I'm a senior research fellow at Nottingham University. Arabic is my native language but I speak English fluently and I also speak a bit of Italian. I completed my B.Sc degree in chemical engineering from Al-Zawia University, Libya. I received my M.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham,UK in 2011. I completed my PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham in May 2017.

Tutoring Experience

I have a good range of teaching experience gained over the past years and I am particularly familiar with working as a lecturer or tutor. This has included my role as a foundation year lecture.
I worked as a private tutor for A-level students and as a demonstrator/tutor for university students, as a result I managed to develop the skills required to support and prepare young adults to their science degree.
I have worked as a lab demonstrator and tutor for year one to year three students in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in Nottingham University.

I worked as tutor of Aspen HYSYS for undergraduates at the University of Nottingham.
I’ve been involved in the supervision of MEng students for their design projects.

Tutoring Approach

As a tutor I think of myself as a coach. In other words I always encourage my pupils to do their own work with the required support they need. I usually build on the knowledge she/he already has. My tutoring session involves questions and practical examples. Tutees are thought to apply their knowledge to solve new problems.
