I live in South Yorkshire with my husband. We love going on holidays and going to football together. I love animals, especially dogs and hedgehogs. I’ve recently become a hedgehog fosterer!
I have 20 years teaching experience. I’ve taught across the primary age range and spent some time as key stage 1 lead. I was also maths lead for 13 years.
I work in a variety of settings including a primary school, a forest school with a maths/science focus, online working 1:1 and with groups and I’ve enjoyed working with children who are home educated as well as those in the school system.
I love getting to know children and building up a relationship based on trust. I find that this helps children to have the confidence to take risks which, in turn, results in progress.
My favourite subject is maths. I believe that everyone is capable of succeeding if they are given the right tools; so I make sure that children are able to use manipulatives and then pictures to secure their understanding.
I have recently started tutoring and particularly enjoy having more opportunity to personalise learning to the needs of the child.
