I am a 28 year old mother to one, a keen gardener and Godmother of four with an passion for working with children.
Prior to becoming a qualified teacher I studied English Literature at A-Level before completing a BA with Honours in English Literature at University in Cambridge. I am very enthusiastic about reading and the teaching of Literacy as a lifelong tool for learning. I thoroughly enjoyed my Literary studies and regularly enjoy getting stuck into a new book.
I am based near Watton in Norfolk.
I am a Fully Qualified Primary School Teacher and enthusiast of teaching Phonics, Literacy and Reading. Upon qualifying as a Teacher, I spent 4 years working as a Reception class teacher in a public school. In 2021, I took up the position of Year 1 class teacher in a private school. During the years spent there I also taught a combined Reception/Year 1 curriculum in a mixed class of pupils.
I have a wealth of experience supporting children with SEN (special educational needs) within the classroom too; specifically providing speech and language intervention (SALT) and supporting children with developmental delays. I also tutored a student with additional needs over the school holidays, to provide additional support towards his individual next steps.
In 2023, following maternity leave I decided to embrace my love of Literature again, and offer my services tutoring GCSE English and Literature. I am also available for Primary School level tuition too.
I pride myself on being reliable, enthusiastic and organised. I believe in making learning fun in order to engage and inspire pupils to want to achieve and progress. Within lessons, I aim to build confidence and independence. This, I believe, is the way to nurture a life-long learner who is inspired to better themselves and build on their achievements every day.
