Half-English and Half-French, I grew up in South London. I went to Trinity School in Shirley, where I did English Literature, History, French, and Drama for A-level. From there I went to Cambridge University, where I spent three brilliant years studying English and doing as much drama as I could squeeze around my studies. Now graduated with a 2.1, I live in London, where I divide my time between teaching and the theatre.
Testimonials:
• “Quentin’s unique and intellectual perspective on each of the texts I am studying has helped me to shape my writing style and to broaden the way in which I perceive literature. As well as finding methods to simplify the complex works we have been studying, his talkative teaching style has allowed me to express openly my thoughts and opinions without fearing the accuracy of my answer. Quentin is dedicated, stimulating and patient and I strongly recommend him to you.” – Isabel, English A-level student.
• “I wanted to say thank you so much for helping me this past year. I did not think for a second I would be able to get A*s in English, and never would have done it without your help. Thank you again!" – Kiera, iGCSE student.
• "My daughter has really enjoyed her lessons with Quentin and found them extremely helpful” – Georgina, mother of Pre-U student.
• “Quentin’s input helped [my son] a great deal and boosted his confidence for sure” – Shubha, mother of 13+ student.
• “You were a friendly and reliable teacher who genuinely seemed to care about my work and progress. You taught me in a way which forced me to think about poetry analysis for myself rather than immediately jumping to an answer, allowing me to achieve top grades in GCSEs.” – Will, GCSE student.

My background in theatre, combined with my academic training at Cambridge University allows me to plan lessons that are both informative and interesting. This also helps with another important aspect of my teaching: increasing confidence in public speaking. This is often overlooked, but crucial for interview as well as long-term success.
