Confucius Institute certified professional Chinese Teacher with a master's degree in Education. I have more than 2500+hrs online mandarin teaching experience with 5 stars in 100%.
Hi! 你好Nǐ hǎo!Welcome to my Chinese world!
I am a local girl from Shanghai who has lived in the UK for five years. I am a Confucius Institute certified professional Chinese Teacher (CTCSOL Certificate). I have graduated with a Master's degree (with Merit) in Education in University of Glasgow outside my home country. For this reason, I have significant cross-cultural experience.
I have four years of experience in teaching Mandarin. So far I have more than 2000 hours online mandarin teaching experience and all 5 star reviews on other tutoring platforms.
I worked as a teacher, teaching HSK in a Mandarin School in Glasgow Kelvin College, which helped me develop excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 100% of the class was able to pass the HSK3 exam.
Now that I've moved to Belfast , I am working as a Mandarin teacher in the Chinese Language School Northern Ireland and at the same time I also work full time as an online mandarin tutor.
I've developed my own system of mandarin teaching and I am able to tailor my lessons to their requirements of each students. I am able to turn the classroom into a fun and engaging environment.
I know it's always a bit scary to learn a new language, but my goal is to make sure my students love learning Mandarin! :)
My lessons are primarily based on HSK textbooks, although I do incorporate elements from other Mandarin textbooks. HSK is the official standard by which non-native Mandarin speakers are judged in China. After taking my lessons, my students will be able to acquire an official HSK certificate which will be recognised by all agencies in China.
I know that Chinese characters have always been the most scary part for students learning Chinese, so I have my own way of using pictures and tracing their origins to help students easily understand these characters.
For children, I will use age-appropriate teaching materials. I will engage them actively in the classroom through games, music, and pictures, to help them love learning Chinese!
I also give homework to my students, but it's not mandatory. It's just to help them review and practice what they've learned. There's no pressure to complete my homework.
