I am a recently retired Professor of Psychology, having taught at various universities for 30 years. I have taught, supervised and examined BSc, MSc, and PhD students so I know what is required at these levels. I have wide-ranging experience of what is required to do well at university and for students to realise their full potental.
I have taught a variety of topics, including: personality, intelligence, social psychology, biological psychology/neuroscience, psychological assessment and psychometrics, behavioural economics, psychopathology, and research design and statistics. I have also published books and many scientific papers.
Each student is different - something I have learned from interacting with 1000s of them over the course of my career. I adapt my approach to the specific student, finding out first what is important to them and, then, how best to meet their needs. I also have knowledge and techniques of how best to learn and retain information, and how to structure coursework and prepare properly for examinations. My experience tell me that many students have beliefs that hinder ther learning and reaching their full potential. I can work on them to remove these barriers to achievement.
