Phil was great working with my son on exam preparation for his GCSE's. My son was a reluctant learner when it comes to English, but Phil managed to keep him engaged and improve on his grades (increasing them by 2). Thank you Phil, you were a life saver!!

I cannot rate Philip highly enough. I contacted First Tutors for my son who was studying Higher English. My son has dyslexia and struggles with exam stress and the extra challenges being dyslexic brings to learning. From the beginning Philip understood my son's needs and they clicked from the first lesson. Philip patiently helped my son with past papers and strategies to help him through his exam. Philip came across as very professional and organised with a clear objective for every lesson. My son sat his exam today. I have no doubt Philip has played a large part in helping my son sit his exam with solid help, guidance and strategies. Thank you.

I have enjoyed my lessons with Philip a lot. He makes the lessons more engaging and fun which is very helpful given the overwhelming content of A level English (9093). I found Philip just 5 weeks before my AS Level exam and he helped me achieve an A grade even with the short time frame. He prepares you thoroughly to solve past papers and exam-style questions by breaking down topics and by giving clear and easy-to-understand explanations.

I would definitely recommend Philip for someone aiming to achieve a top grade in AS and A level English.

I have been very impressed with Phil's English tuition. Phil explains everything very thoroughly and is happy to go over anything again. Phil tailors each lesson to my individual needs and I am pleased with the progress that I am making. I would highly recommend Phil.

I was in Liverpool with my daughter and we got private lessons from Phil. Our focus was communication in general and for my daughter some preparation for the Cambridge Cetificate exam. Excellent. My son has gained so much confidence from Philip's tuition, he has gone from not writing much in his mock exams to sitting his 1st 3 English GCSE exams and returning home happy about them. My son has commented on how Philip makes English interesting and that he has enjoyed the sessions. Philip is very reliable and dedicated. I would highly recommend Philip for English tuition.
