My university degree was mostly based on Chinese Literature and journalism writing. After graduation from university, I had been working as a journalist in China for 10 years, and then in various print media of Chinese language in London as a leading journalist and editor for another 10 years. Knowing Chinese language and use the language in a professional way makes most of my career.

Proud to say that, during my journalism jobs in London, I had been invited to Chinese New Year receptions in Foreign Office almost every year, and once invited to 10 Downing Street among around 40 other Chinese guests.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently teaching two English speaking happy adult students Chinese Mandarin. They have been taking lessons from me for more than one year now. One of them is a consultant providing services to multinational companies and clients, another one is a business owner. They both have the ambition to extent their career into the Chinese speaking world. I enthusiastically welcome more with same ambitions to join them!

Tutoring Approach

My Chinese lesson will base on a gradually developing text book with day to day practical Chinese. It will be not only about the language itself, but also together with the historical and cultural context behind the characters, words and phrases, to meet the needs of much more knowledge demanding adult students. In my Chinese lessons, one can learn the skills of the language with deep understanding as a Chinese does, and even more than an average Chinese can. Or, at least know the truth of China and understand its history, culture and people much better than before, if still feel the language a bit challenging after some time.
