Peter has been of great help in developing the skills and techniques for mastering the Maths Higher paper. Peter has an engaging and patient approach from the ground up, that builds confidence and facilitates proficiency. Aside from practice on all aspects of the specification, Peter provides useful tips and hints on exam technique, to ensure potential errors are mitigated and the accrual of exam points are maximised. Progress and review is shown on a week to week basis with access to questions completed.

In the short time my son has been working with Peter, my son's confidence in maths has significantly increased . With that, he has gained in his enjoyment of maths and the feedback from his school has got better.

My then 14-year-old daughter was really struggling with maths, so I contacted Peter about some extra tutoring. She has gone from the GCSE equivalent of a grade 3 (or even below) to a grade 5 in about eight months.
What is just as important as her grade is that her confidence in what she can achieve has soared.
What Peter did was go right back to basics and fill in some missing building blocks in her maths learning, as he said that is often the case - that children have missed a few basics in primary school and never recovered properly. He will tailor his lessons to your particular child, and if my daughter says she is struggling with this or that in class, he'll adapt the lessons to suit what she needs.
Peter is calm and approachable, and the growing confidence she has found over this past year being coached by him in maths has spilled over into other subjects, so it's been a win-win situation.
I can't tell you how thrilled she was to find out this week that she got a grade 5 in her mock GCSE maths. And a huge proportion of that is the steady support and encouragement she has had from Peter. I can thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.

Peter is a reassuring tutor and has an easy rapport with his students. 11 lessons in and our son Fionn has thoroughly enjoyed each and every GCSE maths lesson and apart from improving his maths enormously over this time, Fionn is always beaming and buzzing after his tutoring - which is mad because we are talking about a 15 year old who has just given up an hour of his free time to do maths… You can’t ask for more!

Peter has an incredible way of explaining things to enable understanding - he has a tried and tested method - which works. Fionn says Peter is literally a maths wizard; there are things that our son just did not get in the classroom no matter how many times it was explained but when Peter showed the workings / explained the process - the penny dropped - years of frustration gone.

Our son is so much more knowledgeable, confident and empowered with his maths and I cannot thank Peter enough for his wonderful tutoring.

Peter is very passionate about what he does and goes the extra mile. The work done is saved and emailed to us. He’s teaching my son good practice which he absolutely needs. We have only had two lessons so far but I am confident that we’ll have exceptional results.

We have had Peter now for 3 months helping our son towards his final year in GCSE Maths. He is an excellent tutor, our son is very pleased. We only wish we had found him much sooner. Peter is everything we could have hoped for in a maths tutor. With a critical 12+ exam looming, he was able to assess our child’s abilities quickly, and understand where there were gaps, and what was required to get skills where they need to be. He is methodical in his approach, and works in building blocks, to ensure that core knowledge and skills are in place, before moving on. In short, not just mindful of immediate needs, but future proofing which is definitely worth the investment. He is utterly focused, fully prepared and I am in no doubt using every minute of each session to get the most out of it for our child. He exudes confidence in his own abilities, but it is not misplaced, and more importantly understands the value of instilling this same self-belief and confidence in his tutee. He has an easy manner which has won our son over, not always a given! I would have no hesitation in recommending Peter as a maths tutor.

My son has just had his fifth lesson with Peter and he is finding them really productive. He says that he has really helped him to solidify his understanding of complex topics that he wasn't able to quite grasp fully in a normal classroom situation.
He finds Peter friendly, approachable and easy to understand and we would definitely recommend him as a tutor.

Peter is very approachable, supportive and friendly therefore my son's maths lessons are enjoyable and interactive. Peter is very good at explaining things clearly with a methodical approach which ensures that the basics are solid before progressing onto more complex material. This approach means that progress is rapid and sustainable. My son's grades have already improved within a relatively short space of time but more importantly he has started to enjoy maths again.

I have been having maths tuition with Peter for about a month now and have found it a very positive experience. We work at my speed and Peter explains things clearly in a way that I can understand. I have always struggled with maths but feel that I am making progress. I know that we have some way to go but I’m feeling much more confident about resitting my GCSE Maths exam next May.

My son started Peter’s tuition in September. Peter’s lesson is well prepared /structured and my son found his lesson very useful at school. We will receive a school report soon and we are looking forward to seeing the good result in Math.

I'm delighted with the progress my daughter has made with Peter. She was struggling very significantly with maths but is now obtaining grades in class assessments which are towards the top end of her set. She herself has expressed that she feels much more confident now and realises the difference that expert one to one tuition has made.

Peter was a great at encouraging my son to be the best he could. He also shared some great techniques to get a very good result for GCSE! Peter knew exactly what to teach him and explained the problems very well.

Phoebe really enjoys her tuition with Peter and is very positive about the weekly sessions.
