I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. As a professional working internationally, I thought it would be easy to hand over this important element of their education to someone with both experience and patience. My notion was quickly turned on its head. The Tutors I found taught textbook style with the one shoe fits all approach. My children and others didn't fit into that mould. I very quickly realised that I could do a better job and took the role in house, initially teaching my own daughters before extending out to their friends.
To date I have tutored over 50 children who have gone onto their chosen schools and streams. I believe that tutoring should be about delivering skills to children that they can carry with them throughout their young lives and provide a solid platform on which to develop.
I have tutored key stage 2,3 and 4. Including A level and IB. 11 and 13 plus students as well as common entrance applicants.
I have 5 + years of experience teaching mild-severe dyslexic students in English Literature and Language.
I am currently working with a number of GCSE English students as well as writing essays for publication in English Literature, Sociology and Business GCSE and AS level. As well as E papers for 11 plus students.
In 2015 I commenced working with homeschooled children and to date have enjoyed a very pleasant experience witnessing their growth both in confidence and knowledge.
From July 2024 I will be joined by Alexis who is currently an investment banker. Alexis has a first class honours degree from Durham University in Economics. She will be available to teach maths and Economics on line
I believe children work better when they are able to understand the subject. This is not always possible when they are in a traditional classroom. I build on that understanding and work at their own pace. I work with each child so that we travel the learning journey together. This way as the subject intensifies they are able to move on seamlessly.
Please note that sessions cancelled within 24 hours are subject to 100% cancellation fee. Than you for your understanding
