I am an experienced science teacher who is currently employed at a Lincolnshire Grammar School, predominantly teaching GCSE and A-level physics classes.
Over 25 years of classroom teaching experience of GCSE and A-level physics. Formerly Head of Physics in an Academy School, responsible for all aspects of this subject. I have spent more than 9 years working in selective schools, plus 16 years in Academies - this experience has included a very wide range of student abilities. In addition, I have previous experience of private tuition in students' homes.
I prefer to explain and model concepts (through various analogies and real-world examples) to further student understanding. This will usually include typical exam-style questions, including the comprehensive 6 mark type. Development of maths and literacy skills is usually included within the teaching structure, and is closely linked to exam questions to secure attainment progress. Students sometimes ask for specific assistance with exam questions and topics that they struggle to manage independently in order to gain confidence in those areas.
