I am a popular and efficient team member demonstrated by working successfully at previous employment who is willing to make sacrifices to achieve goals and objectives. I believe I am an honest, mature and flexible employee who thrives on challenging situations.
I am currently acting as a general cover supervisor at Holywell High School and recently covered a Maths teaching position on a supply basis at Neston High School. The most recent long term post was at Rhosnesni High School in Wrexham. I successfully dealt with these students on a daily basis.
I am a reflective teacher who believes that continuous evaluation of teaching methods and strategies is crucial for developing as a professional. The three-part lesson structure is excellent in terms of a skeleton for all lessons and classroom management issues, knowledge retention and reinforcement of principles can be achieved. I am always open to innovative ideas for improvement and impressed that ICT is available as a teaching aid in the Mathematics Department.
At Silidur UK Ltd my main responsibility was to organise and price tender enquiries received from Main Contractors by utilising a variety of software applications to design the thickness of a proposed slab, produce drawings, marginal price calculations and detailed quotations. The company designs and installs reinforced concrete floors for large industrial warehouses across the country. I also managed a small team of estimators, which gave me invaluable supervisory skills.

I am proficient using Smart boards, Promethean Whiteboard Technology and the associated software. I have passed the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). My main areas of expertise involve Mathematics, Information Technology, Business Studies and all sporting activities. I am prepared to help the school in all of these areas and fully committed to ensure all teaching responsibilities and standards are met.
I have excellent attention to detail, good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities in order to get the best from people. I play football for a local team and have previously represented my school and county of Flintshire schools. Other hobbies include socialising, reading and gardening.
I have a high degree of tenacity in order to complete tasks on time and to standard. I also have a level of resilience to cope with stretching tasks and occasional difficult people. I demonstrated these qualities as a teacher and as Chief Estimator with Silidur (UK).
In terms of the principal responsibilities required I have experience of every aspect as I studied PGCE - 2 Year Mathematics at the University of Birmingham which involved teaching at three Secondary schools, covering educational issues and studying Mathematics to post GCE ‘A’ Level. From September 1998 - October 1999 I was a teacher at Blessed George Napier High School, Banbury and taught Mathematics and I.T. at a secondary school across the age range from 11 to 18 years. I left this post as it was not right for both parties at that time but now I am in a much stronger position to re-enter the profession.
In 2007 I completed a course at Edge Hill University, which is aimed at qualified teachers who have taken an extended career break from secondary teaching. It familiarises teachers with the National Curriculum, and other statutory requirements, as well as the principles of ‘good secondary practice’. The course helps teachers to identify their current skills and their future professional needs. The taught sessions are combined with a school placement, enabling teachers to gain experience of secondary teaching within a supportive framework and through working alongside experienced practitioners. I have since gained further teaching experience in a supply capacity at numerous secondary schools in the North West area and a one term contract at Rhosnesni High School, Wrexham.
Excellent subject knowledge. Personable, patient approach while keeping students on task.
