Tutoring Experience

I have almost 20 years experience working in schools, as a History teacher and senior leader, teaching students from Y7 to Y13. In school I tutored and supported many students to achieve excellent outcomes, running 1-1 and small group sessions before, during and after school.

Outside of school, I have worked with individual students, helping them prepare for GCSE and A-Level Exams as well as Oxbridge interviews. I have also tutored History students through Justin Craig Education.

Tutoring Approach

I adopt a personalised, intuitive, student centred approach to tutoring. Firstly by identifying students strengths and weaknesses in the subject, and tailoring sessions and resources to where they are, and supporting and challenging them to get to where they want to be.

I help students build their confidence in the subject with a positive, personable demeanour, as well as teaching skills and strategies that can be taken back and applied in class, independent study sessions and examinations. I also believe students learn best when they are engaged and passionate about the subject, so I find and nurture that passion in the sessions.

I am highly experienced at working with students of all abilities, as well as those with specific educational needs.
