I am a fully qualified, CRB checked secondary school teacher with many years of experience teaching and tutoring maths (up to higher level GCSE) and business studies(to A-level). Most of my teaching has been in independent schools where standards and expectations for achievement are high, and I take great pride in helping students achieve their full potential.
I currently work in an independent school in Northampton where I am Head of Business Studies.

Please note that my rates are negotiable but start from £25 per hour per student for GCSE and £30 an hour for A-level, based on one student coming to my house, or teaching online via Zoom. If you live within a 10-15 minute drive of my house my typical rate is £30 for coming to you to tutor (GSSE) or £40 (A-Level) .However, if there are 2 or more students the rate per student can be reduced (eg I have tutored two GCSE students together a couple of times and charged £40 for an hour, which equates to £20 per student)

Tutoring Experience

Since qualifying as a secondary school teacher in 1996 I have taught maths, either at GCSE level in school or as a private tutor. I have recently dropped to three and a half days a week of teaching at my current school in in order to provide more time to meet the increasing demands for private maths and business studies tuition.

Tutoring Approach

I have a patient, friendly 'student-focussed' approach to tutoring which has been very successful over the years. This normally starts by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and tailoring a package of tuition aimed at building confidence in tackling exam-style questions.
