I am a professional tutor and psychotherapist. I live in South Oxhey, Watford with most of my work being online, at home or in Central London.
I enjoy working with students who might be off school for a particular reason or who are being home schooled. As I am a full time tutor and therapist, I am available in the mornings for those who are currently not in full time education.
I'm also very willing to help those who find English a little tough. I usually meet them outside of regular school hours.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching since 1992. I moved to the UK in 2000 and have taught at various schools including Merchant Taylors' School in Northwood. I recently resigned from the classroom to focus on my private work as a tutor and therapist. I have a reputation for helping those who find English a little tough, including this with minor difficulties such as Dyslexia.
I have a very thorough knowledge of all the GCSE exam boards and most of my tutoring is aimed at that age group. But I am happy to help those in Years 8 and 9 get ready for GCSE. I have also taught A Level Language and Literature.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer to teach skills so that the student becomes confident. I enjoy contact with the parents and, if need be, with the pupil's school. My approach is a little more on the light hearted side as I want the pupil to feel comfortable. School is pressurised enough! They do not need more pressure from me. I tend to teach from home in person, or online. For online teaching I use Teams as it allows for more interaction between me and the pupil. I currently have students in Central London who I see in their homes if it is convenient and fits in with my schedule.

I am very happy to offer intensive revision over school holidays when convenient. These can be in person or online. I have also had parents who have asked me to read a set text with their child over the summer holidays.
