I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) at the International School of Basel, Switzerland in 2018. I then attended the University of St Andrews, where I first completed a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry then a research Masters in Biology focusing on virology, infectious disease, immunology and microbiology. I have since decided to shift my focus to my passion: acting. I completed an MA in Acting at RBC and am now pursuing my career in London, whilst also tutoring.
Teaching and sharing knowledge has been my passion for many years. I started teaching middle school whilst still in high school aged 16. I taught maths for 2 years and continued to teach Biology whilst at University. Whilst completing my research Masters, I taught first and second year of Biology and Laboratory work at the University. I have turned to online tutoring in the past year and have been regularly teaching IB and A Level ToK, Biology and Chemistry as well as GCSE Maths and Science. On occasion I will teach music theory (up to ABRSM 5), and English (specialising in Shakespeare).
I like to work towards my students goals, whether that is to get the highest grade - in which case we target the particular assessment body's expectations, or whether that is being passionate and wanting to understand the topic. With the latter, I am happy to delve deeper, discuss topics and do extra research to make it interesting. As every school and teacher has a slightly different approach, I ask my students to share what they've learned and how, as well as their style of learning. My goal is to get them as informed and as comfortable with the subject as possible.
