Hi! My name is Olivia, and I am an enthusiastic second year medical student offering tutoring in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Maths; A level Biology and Maths, and UCAT/BMAT.

Tutoring Experience

For the past 3 years I have tutored students in science and maths, and during my gap year in 2021, I taught Biology and Chemistry at a grammar school in London.
I have a very good knowledge of effective revision strategies and of the GCSE/ A level specifications that I teach. At GCSE, I teach AQA, Edexcel and OCR Biology and Chemistry, and Edexcel Maths. At A Level, I teach OCR and AQA Biology, and Edexcel Maths.
I have a lot of experience tutoring/mentoring students hoping to pursue a career in Medicine. I've tutored many students for the UCAT and BMAT and also have lots of experience mentoring students with their personal statement.

Tutoring Approach

Having myself had tuition, I know how much a positive and patient approach can help to instil confidence and facilitate learning. I like to communicate well with my students and set goals in the first lesson according to what they want to achieve from tutoring. When I begin tutoring a new student I also give them a revision timetable/tracker based on their specification. I then plan lessons according to what areas they are most weak on and what they are currently working on in class. I like to make my lessons engaging and enjoyable, covering the foundations of what needs to be learnt and keeping track of the student’s progress.
