Private Maths and Physics Tutor in Muswell Hill

I am an Economics and Statistics graduate, graduating from a university often ranked in the top 10 globally. I have always been good at maths, getting double A* in both mathematics and further mathematics at A level. I like to learn about the world in my free time, looking at research papers in neurochemistry or biomedicine. Listening to podcasts about philosophy, history, or politics. As well as watching videos by world leaders and central bank heads to keep up to date with the economy. I love learning and know that attitude is infectious. I have dyslexia and ADHD which means I can relate to those that have trouble focusing or find symbols confusing. Despite this I have achieved great academic results and enjoy helping others do so too!

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored in person a little bit. My main experience comes from consistently being a source of explanation and help for classmates and course mates throughout my GCSEs, A levels, and degree. Many people have told me I am good at explaining things or that I should be a teacher after I’ve explained something to them.

Tutoring Approach

Asking questions to find out what isn’t understood, so that I can ask directly related explanation afterwards if the answer is incorrect. Framing the questions on requiring an understanding of the underlying rules, patterns, and theories rather than memorisation. Helping improve pattern improve pattern recognition by questioning how elements of different questions are related to one another.
