I am currently a graduate student at the University of Oxford, specializing in Buddhist Studies within Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. I hold a first-class degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh, where I developed a strong interdisciplinary approach to learning. With experience tutoring at both Oxford and Edinburgh, I am passionate about helping students engage with complex ideas, tailoring my teaching to their individual learning styles. I aim to foster a supportive and thoughtful learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
I have diverse teaching and leadership experience, including volunteering as an English Language teacher in Dharamsala, Tibet, where I worked with Tibetan refugees, and serving as a Peer Assisted Learning Leader in Cognitive Science at the University of Edinburgh, guiding students through complex topics in collaborative settings. At Oxford University, I have tutored students in Southeast Asian Buddhism, encouraging critical thinking and interdisciplinary approaches. Additionally, as a meditation and yoga teacher at Edinburgh University, I integrated mindfulness practices with cognitive science principles to promote well-being among students.
In my teaching, I aim to cultivate a holistic approach that goes beyond the intellectual, emphasizing the importance of enjoyment and emotional engagement in the learning process. I believe that when students find joy in their studies and feel emotionally connected to the material, they are more motivated and open to deeper understanding. By creating a supportive and dynamic environment, I encourage students to bring their whole selves to the learning experience, fostering curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking. This approach helps students engage with complex ideas while building a meaningful connection to the subject matter.
