I am a Secondary School Maths teacher. I have a lot of tutoring experience in such levels as BGE, Nat 3/4/5, GCSE (Foundation and Higher tiers), IGCSE as well as Higher maths.
I have a degree from Strathclyde University in PGDE (Maths, Secondary Education) and MEng in Chemical and Process Engineering.
I am very passionate about maths as a subject and I always do my best to ensure that my pupils enjoy maths as much as I do.
Having worked as a Maths teacher in secondary schools in the past has provided me with an in-depth knowledge of all the material covered in each level. I have taught series of lessons using the relevant experiences and outcomes for pupils in S1-S3, National 5, GCSE/IGCSE and Higher. When tutoring, I utilise various teaching resources such as textbooks, worksheets and resources that I have created myself.
When meeting a new pupil, I try to identify pupil's strengths and areas for development. If there are any gaps in pupil's knowledge I always do my best to close them by setting targets and providing small achievable goals. I make sure we go back to the basics if necessary and move on to a more complicated material only when the pupil have a solid foundation from which they can progress.
If pupils have exams, I also refer to past papers and explain which exact part of the solution pupils are getting their marks for and why.
