Hi! Welcome to my profile! My name is Octavia, I have a First-Class Honours in French, Spanish & Catalan from the University of Bristol, and I've lived in London for the past 3 years. I have actually lived a third of my life in Spain - I went to primary school in Madrid, secondary school in Valencia and then back to Madrid to attend Complutense University during my year abroad - as well as travelling all over the world with my father in the army. I am completely bilingual in Spanish and English.

Tutoring Experience

To sum up my teaching experience, I have volunteered at a primary school in Wiltshire assisting with lessons, grammar and reading, whilst at university in Bristol I looked after two children (aged 11-14) and often helped them with their homework, on my year out in Madrid I taught English to two Spanish children (aged 6-8), and being the only fluent Spanish speaker at home, I have spent many an hour helping my little sister (now 17) with the homework set by her school. I've also been tutoring in London since 2017 thanks to First Tutors!

Tutoring Approach

My main goal as a tutor is to be completely flexible around my client's needs. I am friendly, smiley, enthusiastic and passionate about all things Spanish, and Spain, but equally I've always loved academia and having done the IB and therefore an array of subjects to a high level, I have a real passion for helping students achieve the grades they want in all areas of their schoolwork.

I really am here to help as much as I humanly can so can adapt from conversational Spanish sessions to more grammar focused, dependent on my client's needs - you name it, we'll make it work!

At the same time I am also here to offer more general homework tutoring services, such as general support after school to manage workload and the challenges that the current climate poses.

Finally, both my mother and my brother are severely dyslexic so this is definitely something I am used to.
