I am Noelia, I am originally from Spain but I have lived in the UK for the last four years. I am a qualified Primary School teacher with a major in teaching English as a foreign language. I am very passionate about imparting knowledge and an empathetic teacher.
I have experience teaching Spanish as a second language in Ireland to adult learners. I have also taught English as a Second language in Thailand to children between 4 and 14 years of age. I worked in China as an English teacher and after school Spanish teacher working with children aged 2-6 years old. After working in China, I decided to move to the UK and work in a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) Primary School where I spent 4 years developing my skills not only imparting lessons in small groups and leading a class but tailoring individual learning plans using students EHCP´s to best meet their individual needs. During my 4 years experience as an SEMH teacher I learnt a lot about trauma informed and therapeutical teaching which has made me more confident as a professional and has made me seen challenging behaviour as a way of communicating a need that has not yet been met. I have also experience teaching children with ASD, dyslexia and dyscalculia.
I use different methodologies to teach my students with a focus on students interests. I am a strong believer in the importance of connecting with students to help them reach their full potential. I have a therapeutical approach to teaching.
