I’m Niya, and I am currently a medical student in my 3rd year at Bristol!
I would describe myself as an extremely enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping students achieve their goals in the fields of science and medicine!
For any prospective Medicine or health sciences students I offer interview and application advice. Having practised independently and within a group setting, I am well-versed in the MMI medical interview format.
I have experience tutoring students for A-level and GCSE biology, chemistry and maths as well as GCSE physics and up to intermediate-level piano, through doing so I would be comfortable to tutor to these levels.
A 3-step programme is the best approach to keep you at your top in terms of exam performance. This process is as follows:
- Teaching basics and more developed topics
- Worked examples and collaborative teaching
- Observed and/or assessed questions
I like to give students the maximum opportunity to dictate the content and structure of tutoring sessions to deliver the most benefit to them.
I like to start by establishing a student’s current understanding of a subject, their academic aims and their preferences for teaching style.
Normally progressing to a discussion/explanation of a key topic and finally a test of knowledge at the end to consolidate the lesson topics and enhance student confidence!
