Online and in person tutoring, home schooling and academic support. I am a fully qualified secondary English teacher and Deputy Headteacher. I have a first class degree in English and French from Warwick University, as well as a Masters degree in Teaching Studies. I have extensive school leadership experience as a Deputy Head, Assistant Head and prior Head of English. I have experience of teaching in both secondary and primary schools in the UK and France. My areas of teaching expertise are English Literature and English Language at GCSE and A Level Literature. I work with students of all abilities and am experienced in supporting students with a wide range of SEND needs.
I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where children receive personalised tuition and feel positive and able to succeed. Lessons are 1-2 hours, and are structured in a way that means students make progress throughout and reflect on what they have learnt. If students are struggling with particular areas of the English curriculum at school I will focus on improving their skills in these areas. Students may be set additional research, reading comprehension or written tasks as homework to complete between our sessions, which I will mark and give feedback on during our next lesson.
