I am an inspiring, qualified and experienced Spanish and French teacher. My enthusiasm and patience motivates pupils to achieve their full potential and to understand concepts they may struggle with in school. My years of experience as a classroom teacher has allowed me to try and test techniques to ensure pupils make progress from Year 7 to A-level and beyond. I currently tutor both children and adults.
I have taught French and Spanish in Surrey secondary schools for the past four years to 11-18 year olds. I consider GCSE and A-level classes my strength as I help train pupils to impress the examiner and to understand the requirements of the course.
My teaching techniques have helped pupils improve their grades at GCSE and A-level and helped them get into their chosen university.
I qualified as a MFL teacher in 2012 and prior to that I taught English as a Foreign language for two years. Recently, I have been preparing students for the new GCSE and A-level syllabus for both Edexcel and AQA exam boards.
I ensure lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and use a range of resources in each lesson. Pupils are set targets which they work towards and I guarantee that my tutees do make progress. Lessons are engaging and cover all four skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as grammar. In addition, I expect pupils to complete independent learning tasks (homework) so they can make the most of tutor contact time. My tutees benefit enormously from the one-to-one contact time and grow in confidence. Each of my lessons is structured based on the tutee's immediate needs and areas for improvement. I am also available to tutor online.
