My passion for teaching and managing stems from the view that, as facilitators, we have the power to effect change.
My wealth of experience as an English teacher and manager of the English Language and English Literature curriculum, I am confident in my ability to disseminate my knowledge and expertise in a capacity of this magnitude.
I have had approximately 20 years of teaching experience: approximately 9 years as a middle manager (Head of English) and a year as a Senior Leader. I have been a lead Practitioner of Teaching, with responsibility for Literacy, whole school and, at present, I am a Senior Mentor with responsibility for managing and training Beginning teachers of school. I teach Key stage 4 English Language and English Literature, and have taught Key Stage 5 English Literature for a number of years. I am also an examiner for GCSE English Language, Edexcel and AQA.
Tutoring allows me to personalise and tailor lessons to meet the pupil's individual needs. One key benefit is one to one interaction with the teacher so much so that a relationship of trust is engendered which ultimately promotes effective learning.
