Tutoring Experience

I completed my PGCE at Newcastle University in 2000 and have spent the last 23 years teaching in Secondary Schools both in England and also Australia for 5 years.
I have extensive experience of teaching English Language and Literature from KS2 up to KS5. I am also qualified to teach History up to GCSE too.
I have been an AQA GCSE English Language Examiner for the last 5 years so I have excellent knowledge on what is required to be successful in the exam.
I have worked with SEND students both as a SEND teacher and a SEND teaching assistant. I use effective strategies that allow all students to reach their full potential.

Tutoring Approach

My first session will involve chatting to my student to get to know them and find out what areas we will need to work on in order to build their confidence. We will then come up with a bespoke, structured learning programme that will cover the key content. My lessons will be interactive and will allow students to learn in a relaxed, engaging environment.
