Naomi

I am an experienced teacher, patron of reading and children's author who is passionate about raising literacy levels in primary education and supporting struggling readers and writers. I visit schools across the country delivering writing workshops, assemblies and literacy support. My books www.dotters.co.uk are used by thousands of schools across the UK and around the world. They are designed to encourage a love of reading and create plenty of opportunities for writing. As a tutor, I am able to draw on my extensive teaching experience and knowledge to support children within literacy on an individual basis.

Tutoring Experience

I have 20 + years experience teaching in primary schools within Oxfordshire.
My roles have included English Lead, Maths Lead, Pupil Premium Lead, Music Lead, KS1 Lead and Lower KS2 Lead.

Tutoring Approach

I have a patient and supportive approach, aiming to improve confidence and fill gaps in knowledge. Through continual assessment I use a variety of teaching strategies to teach new concepts and embed understanding in a fun and interactive way. I have extensive experience of teaching children with SEND and always adapt my teaching style to suit the needs of the individual child. I can design a sequence of lessons to address the learning needs of each child, using my in depth knowledge of the curriculum.
