I am a French native speaker and a qualified teacher for many years.I teach French and German in North West London ( Hampstead Garden Suburb)
I am patient, sociable and have many friends from different nationalities.
My wife and I love to go once a month either to a musical or theatre in the West End. We also like to visit historical or stately homes such as Chartwell, Waddesdon Manor, Knole etc..
I love sports, especially tennis and golf which I play quite often.
I also like travelling because it is a good way to discover other wonderful cultures and try different and delicious cuisines.
I am a French native speaker and a qualified MFL teacher with 27 years teaching experience in the UK.
I am also a strong classroom practitioner and I have tutored for 24 years.
I have mainly tutored students from grammar and private schools such as Tiffin School (Boys), The Tiffin Girls School, King's College School ( Wimbledon), Nonsuch High for Girls (Sutton), Sutton Grammar School, The Latymer School (Enfield), Mill Hill,UCS, Westminster School,Oundle (via Skype), Repton (via Skype), City of London school for Girls, Henrietta Barnet,City of London Freemen's School, St Paul's school London to name but a few.
I have always and carefully prepared each of my tutees for either Common Entrance, GCSE, IGCSE, A level,International Baccalaureate and most importantly Harrow and Eton scholarship exams in both French and German with excellent success stories: Eton scholarship exams are arguably the most challenging in England and Wales. In March 2016 I was headhunted by an agency to help a young student in Hampstead who was struggling in French. With six weeks intensive preparation, my tutee passed the tough French exams with flying colours and got admitted to Eton. The parents are naturally so delighted that they have already booked up to tutor their younger son who will sit the Eton scholarship exams in two years time.
Summer 2017, my IGCSE tutee achieved A* for herself, while one A2 tutee French AQA managed an A grade and one another achieved A* for OCR A2 French.
Finally, for the last few years, I have been working as a moderator or examiner for two of the principal exams boards in England and Wales. This priviledge allows me to know the exams specifications, the syllabus and especially the new changes to GCSE and Alevel inside out
Yours sincerely
Moses
I have always and carefully prepared each of my tutees for either Common Entrance, GCSE, IGCSE, A level, or International Baccalaureate, Cambridge Pre-U in both French and German with excellent success stories:
a- by encouraging the student to be confident to express him/herself and not to be afraid to make mistakes, especially with languages
b- by establishing a calm and relaxed atmosphere where the tutee is encouraged to be curious and to stretch and challenge him/herself in order to constantly improve.
c- by tailoring resources around the student's own interest areas while making sure he/she develops subject knowledge and engages naturally with the topics.
d- by checking and testing in the plenary which takes place about five minutes to the end of every lesson that the student has effectively made a real and tangible progress. This regular and measurable progress has always in my long teaching life helped the tutee achieve the best grade expected by his or her parents.
