I started tutoring after my experience in trying to find suitable tutors for my own children. As a working and busy mum, I thought it would be easier to entrust this vital part of their education into a more capable hand. I was disappointed very early on. The tutors I found had the one shoe fits all approach which did not go well with my children. I was out of options so I decided to do it myself. I realised very quickly that I could do an even better job. I started with my own children and later extended out to their friends as their parents were impressed with the progress my children were making.
I have now tutored over 56 children to the schools of their choice where they are all thriving.

Tutoring Experience

I have more than 15 years experience tutoring children for 7+, 8+ 10+ and 11+. Most of my students are prepared for the highly academic independent day and boarding schools as well as grammar schools. I offer bespoke courses that target specific schools and cover their requirements. I have a good track record of helping children gain scholarships. My latest students in the last results gained 31 offers and 7 academic scholarships to top schools including Eton, City of London school for girls, Godolphin & Latymer, Lady Eleanor Holles, Latymer Upper, Kings' College School, Wycombe Abbey, Cheltenham Ladies College, St Paul's Boys & Girls'. Over years, I have selected some of the most rigorous materials available, including materials prepared by myself to ensure the children cover all necessary skills and are well prepared for any exam.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to provide children with a solid foundation to enable them thrive as they move on to the next stage of their education. Understanding the core of every subject area is paramount as this makes it easier for them to build on their knowledge and really enjoy the subject. I equip them with vital skills and enhance their general knowledge through various brain training activities which is invaluable for the very academic school entrance exams. I review past exam papers in detail once all topic areas have been covered. I run intensive classes intermittently during half term and holidays. These booster courses are designed to enhance preparation in a short term. I mostly tutor children in small groups of about 5 which is great as this encourages them to engage in discussions and challenge themselves more. Children are assessed regularly to ensure there are no gaps in their knowledge.
I am currently accepting registration for year 4 children starting Year 5 in September as well as from current Year 5 children. I offer comprehensive assessment to place them in a suitable group. I offer my students 3hrs a week for 11+ preparation @ the rate of £35/ hr. I also provide one to one tuition mostly to my registered students who need extra support at a different rate.
