I am a recent Politics Graduate from Exeter University, scoring a high 2:1 in my degree. I live in Cornwall with my family after moving here last year. I am slightly Politics obsessed but love films and particularly literature and writing poetry. Otherwise, I love watching football and TV shows.
During my time at Sixth form, I co-ran a creative writing club, planning lessons and teaching techniques in both a group and one-on-one setting every so often.
In my second year at University, I took a teaching module, learning about all different types of students and preferred learning techniques. I did a week long placement in a state secondary school, teaching lessons, small groups and individual teaching.
My approach is flexible and depends on the pupil’s needs, requirements and wishes. If the pupil does not state a preference, I ask them in advance of what they would like to be taught in the hour and I come up with a lesson plan accordingly which we run through at the start of the lesson. This typically involves going over the key content before doing practice questions and applying them to exam questions and hitting the mark scheme.
As someone who was tutored for a year for the 11+, I know the important of having a kind and patient tutor!
